Hello there Larry...This question will probably be transferred to the "electronics" section of the forum, but meanwhile check this thread out:

My Session's serial # begins with 7A so it's a 1977 according to this thread. I've read that the first couple of years (starting in 1974) had chrome control knobs and a JBL 15" speaker _________________ Emmons Push Pull, BMI, Session 400, Home of the Slimcaster Tele. |

The letter A (there are also B/C/D) indicates which quarter of the year, so yours is somewhere January through March of '77. _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |

I just bought a Session 400 with the s/n 6A-66359.
On the inside of the chassis, it's stamped Nov. 3, 1976. |

I'm pretty sure the letter 'A' means amplifier. I remember when I worked at a Peavey dealer in the 70's that all the speaker cab serial numbers had 'E' after the year, meaning enclosure, and all the amplifiers had the 'A' designation. It may have changed later on.. _________________ Lost Pines Studio
