Last evening my band Last Train Home won two awards in the "Roots/R&B" category in the 2004 Washington (DC) Area Music Awards:

our Front-man/primary songwriter/mover and shaker Eric Brace won as best vocalist, and Last Train Home tied for Best Duo or Group (tied with our pals Honky Tonk Confidential).

Yee and Haw!!

What?! No Urban Contemporary pedal steel award? Now Dave, I thought you were trying to expand the scope of the instrument. Sheesh.

Congratulations !!!!

I see Dave "The Hula Monster" Giegerich got some nominations too ... and won best instrumentilist back in '97.

Lots of talent over there ...

Way to go !!!!!

and Thanks you guys for the congrats. We have won this Roots/R&B Duo or Group award several times over the past few years, and the band even got Artist of the Year at one point. I'm just glad folks care enough to support live music and continue to think we're worth coming out to hear...
