You should never take a chance of embarrassing some one by asking where they are from. They might not be from Tx. Very Happy

Off the top of my head, I can think of a couple right here in my area. Jody Cameron, Jody Sanders, Bob Bowman, Mike Sparks, Brandon Oberyon, Ricky Davis, Joe Mcham, Cameron Parsons,Brain Roberts and I have seen others around town playing, but I dont know who they are. There is not a shortage of steel players around here.

You also have builder and player Jerry Blanton. He's not into computers so I thought I'd mention him.

Judging by the statistics in the other states, I'd say that Texas enjoys a disproportionate number of steel players per capita.

And the ones I've heard have been disproportionately good, too!

I wasnt born and raised in Texas, but I've made my home in San Antone since 2003. If it wasnt for Texas, I might never have tried to play pedal steel guitar. The emphasis, of course, is on trying to play it. Laughing

I'm here and have lived close to the same little town all my life except for about 5 years in Lubbock getting the wife and me thru Texas Tech. I've been playing in little bands since right after we got back here and about half of that has been on steel.
