Do any of you guys have to replace the nylon tuning nuts every few months ? every year ? Who makes the best ?

replace them when they get loose and the guitar won't stay in tune anymore. The new ones are hard as hell to get started cause they aren't threaded when you get them, but they sure are tight!  |

I find they have a pretty long life, but occasionally, one will get too loose to stay tuned. The open ended ones can sometimes be swapped end for end for even longer life.
Much as I respect the fact that Geo. L's has the white plastic ones readily available for most guitars, I prefer the more translucent nylon ones that the mfgs. normally use, so I try to keep a few of them in stock from Zum and Mullen for my guitars. They're always the right length and diameter and match the look of the existing ones if you need to replace. |

I've started having tuning problems and I replaced the tuners maybe 2 years ago and the replacements I got were a little soft too. Thanks Jerry for the info on other tuners.
