I spoke with Chubby Howard last night. He asked me to post about his show again this year. It will be October the 2nd from 10:00 AM till whenever. It will be at the Fairborn Eagles, 509 Sports St. in Fairborn OH. This years line up looks great. we can look forward to seeing Herby Wallace, Mike Sigler, Wayne Hobbs, Sonny Curtis, Chris Castle, Kenny Holycross, Rusty Rhodes, Phil Perry, of course Chubby Howard himself and with any luck at all Joe Wright will make an appearance again this year. Singers will include Tony Howard, Landon Williams, Justin Perry, Donny Boggs, Mike O'Hara, Wyatt McCubbin, Eric Huff. Lonnie Coots on lead guitar Donnie Elkins on bass guitar as well as many of the the areas finest musicians in the backup band. At Chubby’s show you always have to be ready for surprise guests that's the best part. Great home cooked food will be served all day long. Just a $15.00 donation at the door. A good time is in store for all that can make it. I will keep everyone informed as I get more information.

Always a great show. I get as excited about the list of singers as the list of steel players. They are all fantastic!

I hope to make there.

Just wanted to let everybody know that the Baymont Inn & Suites have let us have rooms for 59.00 instead of normal price of 79.00!!! Which is very nice of them. It is only a mile or so from the Fairborn Eagles. It is located at 730 East Xenia Drive Fairborn, Ohio 45324. Or call 937-754-9109. Just make sure you tell them you are with the steel guitar show. Thanks again everyone,Chubby Howard

Chubby, you probably don't remember me, but I used to come hear you with Grover Jackson in Tacoma WA back in the early 70's. I think you were the first steel player I ever saw live. Hope you have a great steel show and thanks for the memories. Channel 13 and The Abba Dabba.

If you had a chance to go and didn't, you missed a great one. Exceptional house band with exceptional relief players seemed to make the steel players shine above and beyond. Ohio players, out of state monster pickers and some great singing. I got to see some players I'd seen before and couple I'd been wanting to see play for a long time. Two, stick out in my mind as utterly awesome in every respect. Ohio's own and the most humble, Mr. Wayne Hobbs. His jaw dropping speed and individual note clarity is truly without words. He is a master craftsman, period. And then, Chis Castle, his mastery of the instrument has doubled from when I saw him just last year. And what a nice young man. Then there was the duet and twin playing of steel monsters, Rusty Rhodes and Mike Sigler. Awesome. Joe Wright, mesmerized and entertained everyone with his comedy and great playing. And Sonny Curtis, who buy the way turns 39 this month, I got that from his lovely wife, showed us why he has played with so many great stars and has had a great music career. The incomparable Herby Wallace had some technical difficulties before his set, but when he started, WOW, smooth says it all, from first note to last. I don't want to forget Mr. Holycross and Phil Perry who I saw last year and again did not disappoint. Oh, and I can't forget Chubby Howard, again putting together a winner and one to look forward to for next year. Great show Chubby, thank you and all for a supper day of great music.

It's always fun doing Chubby's show! The crowd is always great, good friends, good food, and great music!! I enjoyed seeing all my friends and chatting with everyone. I REALLY enjoyed playing saturday night in a set with Joe Wright and Rusty Rhoads - it was truly an honor and one of the most AMAZING steel guitar experiences I have ever had!! and of course it is always a great time to play with Chubby Howard Smile
thanks to everyone who came out to the show and to the great musicians and band that came and picked top notch!

hope to see you all again next year and for those who can, I hope to see you at the Louisville hall of fame show this coming Sunday!

-Chris Castle Very Happy
