A world of people sitting back drinking their coffee and using a computer built a computer, don't have a clue what he is doing, or how important what he is doing is. Or just how much work that it would be and how the slightest error will end up in a trash can. Lots of things that can go wrong. Fewer and fewer people can do that and fewer even could set up the equipment required. His set up looks crude to industry standards, but in fact is not so crude. Was that last tube a TWT? And on the lathe, a maggie?

I hope there are many of us who really know and appreciate what he is doing.

Bet there aren't many IC's and chips being made in someones home workshop.

I also hope he has a 15 year old apprentice...

Too cool.

What was the round apparatus that he used around 11:20 in the video (actually he used it earlier too)? Some kind of vacuum chamber?

That was fascinating indeed! The solder press machine was neat. I think the chamber was a vacuum, as you could see the numbers getting smaller as it was working. I particularly liked the glass work with the bevel and torch, and the fact that it was all done by one man who obviously has been doing this for a long time. Like a hand wired amp, those hand made tubes must cost a premium since they just dont make em like that anymore!
