Does anyone use a strymon el capistan for pedal steel?
I am looking for a nice delay that sounds good with both guitar and steel.[/i][/u] _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

I use one. It sounds amazing and is endlessly tweakable. Its a bit overkill as a basic delay so it depends on what you are looking for. I play with a few singer songwriters that want a real washed out tape ambient sound from me on steel and for this the el Cap is great. It is also great a simpler delay but I think the real benefit of this pedal is the versatility. A more simple unit that also sounds great is the Wampler Faux Analog Echo. It doesnt have tap tempo, but it is an amazing sounding delay for pedal steel and for guitar. It's very warm and analoguey but without the drawbacks of a true analog unit... _________________ Emmons, Franklin, Mullen |

Check the demos on the Strymon site and study the manual. Every knob has a secondary function and it's all valuable to get your money's worth out the the pedal. |
