Got my first pedal steel (Rains SD-10) about 2 months ago....switched over to it at a gig for the first time tonight (had been playing slide guitar and a little lap steel). No, it wasn't perfect....but it was pretty good, band and audience loved it, and I actually felt like it all made sense to me....

All thanks to Paul Brainard's willingness to teach me in whatever way made sense to me, Pete Burak's incredibly generous time spent setting it up (and showing me how) and showing me some licks & tricks...and, of course, thanks also to Ray Walker, without whom my butt would have been all over the place, and instead it was supported in style....

Steve congrats. Bring it to the Portland steel jam Oct 23rd at the Milwaukie Elks, meet about 30 plus steelers and hear some great music.

Larry -
I keep hearing your name, will try to meet you at the jam....I went to the last one a few months ago, pedal steel was still just a gleam in my eye then...I lurked in the shadows and was amazed by the sounds coming from the group!

I must say - Pete Burak has been incredibly helpful to me, as well, and he's become one of my favorite people, not to mention a great steel player.
