Wikipedia says 1954, but I thought it was '53...?

According to an insert I have from one of Webb Pierce`s CD`s, list " Slowly", as (NA 3181, Decca 28991), Nov.1953. Looks like it was released in 1953, but it may not have been a hit until 1954.

Webb Pierce cut "Slowly" three times with three different steel players. The first two recordings were unissued by Decca. The third recording with Bud Issacs was released and became a #1 Billboard hit.
These are the session dates (All were at Castle Studio):
4/21/52 "Slowly" (Jimmy Day: steel guitar - Decca unissued)
7/30/53 "Slowly" (Bob L. Moore: steel guitar - Decca unissued)
11/29/53 "Slowly" (Bud Issacs: pedal steel guitar - De 28991 - ED 2145 - DL 5536 - DL 8295)
Decca released the Bud Issacs "Slowly" on 2/6/54. It was #1 Billboard for 17 weeks and spent 36 weeks on the Billboard charts.

Wow, Robert you had facts and I had memory from talking to Bud a few years ago. He told me then not to tell anyone what we were drinkin that day - and gave me that grin - then at his 80th birthday party I was emceeing the show and asked him if I remembered right about that and some other stories. He gave me that grin again and said it's OK not to tell um we were drinkin Ice Tea now ---- it don't matter I am 80 now.
Always great just to get him talkin - we have some great photos of him setting on a steelseat at last years Phoenix show - just talkin and grinnin' he said when I said that - Buck and Roy said Pickin and Grinnin but I guess I am now just talkin.
