To any East of England steelplayers that may be interested... I have booked a village hall at Offord D`arcy, Huntingdon its located between St.Neots and Huntingdon for the evening of Thursday 13th. January 2005 All welcome bring your steel and you should get the chance to play, there should be various standards of play from newbies to good, but its not a competition we should all leave feeling good!! (I hope)
There will be an entrance charge of two pounds to help me recover the cost of hiring the hall.... kick off 7pm untill 11pm
no bar, but cheese rolls and a brew of something will be available....
This is the first time I have done this, please support it.....and it will run again.
S.I.T. strings will be available and I think some people are bringing steels to buy/sell.
Email for more info... see you there...JD.

Yes it`s too far for Malcolm and even farther for us "Jacobites"
It`s a pity it`s so far or I`d have been there. Hope it goes well John.

John...

From a Yank in Florida USA.....Good luck with this adventure,.. It's good to see the promotion of the steel in all parts of the world. I have not played steel in your part of the world since the early seventies. However, I remember it was a great time.. I hope I someday will do it again. All the best..

Allan, too bad you can't make it.
I may have to debate between skiing in the alps or steeling in England...
I could use the exercise.

In my last Irish music group we did a song

Calling "Ye Jacobites By Name"
Lend an ear leand an ear
Ye Jacobites By Name, lend an ear.

Ian, Not at the moment just some tracks, but I`m working on it!!
Don`t know how many will turn up so it makes it difficult to plan, but not that far from London, I believe Baz Weston is coming from Hackney, and poss Spencer from Romford and even Dave Wiggins from Grays..... If a few more let me know they are coming I may rustle up a band but it won`t be "Hogan`s Heroe`s"

Hello John, I was hoping to try to get to this event, but January has gone a bit mad with studio sessions etc. I've been doing some work with up and coming band 22-20s for their USA album release. They've also asked me to play live with them at the London Astoria on Saturday 22nd Jan.
It's good to be exposing the PSG to new ears, and hopefully they will do well in the next Brit awards.
Hope the meet goes well, Dave.

Hi John
It depends on how the day works out, but I may be able to get there for an hour or two. I'd really like to, and I've arranged my day to finish at Thrapston, so not too far away, but it depends on what happens between now and then. I look forward to it, or if I can't make it, I hope it's a great success
Best Wishes
JP
