My favorite Johnny Gimble (Floyd Tillman) song because I love the way he sings and plays it and the melody is infectious. I start out with some tri-tones and at 0:46 seconds uses a BooWah tri-tone (C#7 substitute for a G chord).

Also the riffs that starts at 0:50 seconds uses the dreaded C6 pedal 4 that raises both A's To B.

Thomas, the tri-tone stuff really opens up some neat improvs and it's simple enough for even me to understand. I've noticed them a lot more in all types of music now that I know what to look for.

It's interesting that the D#7 tritone substitute for A7 in the key of D that is often used to transition from A back to D includes all the notes of an A7-5 (minus the A root)! So many of these tritone chords can be named as part of the 5 chord or as part of the root + 1 chord.
