Every time you bring out a new video I end up playing a whole bunch of your videos, one after the other. They're addictive.
I don't think I've asked you this before, (and if I have, please bear with me, because my memory isn't what it used to be, ), but what tuning do you use on your Carter? What do you have the knee pedals set up to do, and what effects processors do you use?
I've tried to replicate the sound you get but my setup always sounds totally different. Of course, I'm not playing with your fingers. |

Hey Al! (The retired professor Brookes)
Always glad to here from you my friend.
Memory, what memory??? Who am I writing to again???
Oh yeah, Hi Al!
But seriously, I know what you mean.
So the vids are addictive huh? Dont let that get around, you might make me famous! Lord knows I would`nt want that to happen!.....Yeah Right!
Anyway, my tuning is nothing serious. I play what is known as an open "E" natural. With the exception that I move it up one fret to a sort of "F" natural. I`ve found that my strings sustain better, and longer. As you know, my Carter is a ten stringer, so beginning from the 1st. string down to the bass 1st.E/F, 2nd. B/G#, 3rd.E/A#,4th.E/F, 5th.B/C, 6th.E/F, 7th.B/C, 8th.E/F, 9th.B/C, 10th.E/F.
As you also, (well almost) remember, I have no knee, or foot pedal set ups, do to my physical challenges at all. ( I`m still working on the knee lever problem)And as far as special effects, well I have to attribute that to the cheap recording equiptment that I use. I`ve just been lucky, with a lot of scavenged up junk, to get that sound. you will notice that there isnt a microphone to be found in my videos, (what luck). I`m just lucky I guess!
Anyway, thanks again ole buddy for asking. I hope it helps. My best to you, and family,,,
