Conventional wisdom is that it can't be done, but somebody told me that Mike Cass has found a way to do it.
Mike, please weigh in on this and tell us if it's true, and if it is, what did you do to the guitar to accomplish it. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

mike the last two p/p,s i had ,i split the 5th string
its simple .replace the wire hook with a spring
then let the push rod that lowers the 5th string slide through the hole in the lower finger with a coller, a compressionspring, then another coller .the trick is to
replace the hook with a spring strong enough that it dont stretch when you raise it.then you adjust it with the pedal raised ,then set the push rod up to the raise finger.the put a stop on the knee lever that lowers the 5th tune the split with a screw on the stop.
this way there is no slop in the pedals.this way you can even tune it down to the franklin pedal with no slop in the pedal.it sounds complicated but its really simple.you can call me at 478-230-8867
by the way it dont effect the pedals or the feelof the guitar works smooth

Bobby Bowman did one on mine (the 6th string). He told me he was supposed to put one on the Blade. Don't know if he ever did. Paging Dr. Bowman! |
