Does anyone repair the older lollipop tuners? I have a 54 Stringmaster with the 5th string slipping. It looks like the worm gear is worn down a little. I've tried another gear (on the string shaft) hoping it would help, but nope. I saw a post about Terry ( i think that's it) charging $100 to fix the worm and other gear. I'd pay that if I can still have the lollipop tuner button on there.
Does anyone have a tuner pan that has a few bad tuners that can be scavenged? Unsolder a good tuner off the mostly bad pan and resolder to the mostly good pan? I'd love to get this guitar complete again.
Thanks,
Dave

Terry Mueller has all the parts, and he fixed two lollipop tuners on my '53 T-8 for me, did great work, and put the lollipop buttons back on. It looks just like it did, only the brazing is stronger and the tuner actually works. Call him and talk to him.
