It's the Counterforce unit. LG111s have it, LG11s don't. Aside from that, it's just a sticky label on the front.
Even if there's Counterforce on only one neck on a D-10 (usually E9) and it's not fitted to the other neck, it's still a LeGrande 111. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Thank you Roger. I'm new to this, and have been wondering for a while.

Hi, Morten....
In case you're wondering, the Counterforce unit is a patented Emmons accessory that claims to minimise the effects of cabinet-drop. I don't even pretend to understand how it works.
I do know that I have two LeGrande IIIs both with C'force on E9. Both guitars hold their tuning very well regardless of what pedal/knee combimations I use. Would those two guitars be as good without the Counterforce? I have no idea - it could be a marketing ploy, but they convinced me. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

...is a string affected by the effect of a counterforce unit still in tune if it isn't played? |
