I just bought a Sierra SD-12 universal. Nice guitar but the double-raise mechanism is a problem. I raise my #4 E three different ways and have rigged up a puller for my E to F raise on that string. The puller rides on the E to F# lever which I raise with RKL so the E to F change hooks onto that bell crank for that string. I have to adjust tuning under the guitar and it works, I just wonder if anyone has a better mechanism. See the picture below.
A rod runs from a third bell crank on the E to F# cross axle over to the E to F knee lever's cross axle--other end of the guitar. It's hex nut is visible here.
If anyone has a different workaround for this situation, send me a pic or description. Thanks. --J |

Tom Bradshaw invented a little devise that converts a lower to a raise. He designed if for the old MSA Classic guitars, but it might work on a Sierra.
You should ask him about it. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.
