I'm selling my McVay pedal steel guitar. I was told that this guitar was built in the early to mid 90's up in Pennsylvania. This guitar has an standard Emmons E9th set up, equiped with four pedals and four knee levers.(floor pedal 4 is the "franklin" change, takes string one from F# to G#. and it also takes string 10 from B to A notes).
Just last year I had a new changer mechanism (triple raise, triple lower) and undercarriage installed and built by Barney Miller of Covington GA. it is still essentially new with very little play time on it. The pedal and knee lever along with the precise changer mechanism make this guitar a dream to play! Superb tone and sustain! The aluminum cabinet and padded armrest is in very condition. The top of the guitar is solid maple and lacquered. Case is included. This is truely a one of a kind custom that plays and stays in tune as well as many highly priced new models! Asking $2100. links to more pics below

b-c# on 5 and 10 is just the standard e9 change. the 'frankenlin pedal' may be on the 4th pedal? |

Mark,
Why are you selling this guitar? I have played everyting in your signature block and the McVay is the best, without question! The L-710 pickup was Charlie McVay's pick and the best sounding pickup for this guitar. I designed the front decal and you have added improvements to the under side. The perfect finish was embelishment by another partner in this guitar's production. Dont' sell it, play it! You won't regret it.

Yes it is a dream to play.
and it does sound great too.
Barney Miller put in his famous patented changer last year, Mr. Miller said the pickup in the Mac was one of the best sounding he has ever heard.
I won't drop any names but a couple of other Covington Georgia boys have played this git fiddle and said "Shizzam", thats southern for "holy crap" _________________ Mark Twang |
