In a post awhile back, Cal Sharp mentioned hearing and enjoying this tune. I tracked it down, because I hadn't heard it, and I don't think it ever made it to the West Coast. It's definitely Buddy, sounding like he's having a great time and throwing in some of his signature licks.

This album has been discussed a lot on the Forum, but I'm not sure if tunes have been posted. From what I've read, Buddy was a good friend of Roger's and even went on the road with him as a bass player for a tour when Roger was a pop/novelty star and not using a steel player. The tunes on this album are all ones that Roger wrote for Ray Price and others before he became a star. Hard to believe this was released 40 years ago, ouch.
Here's also a fun book about Roger Miller, which is told in over 100 short stories and anecdotes from people in the business who knew Roger (Buddy included).

| Yow! Thanks for posting this! Classic Emmons tone and licks! Is this possibly also on an album with other Emmons-graced cut? "Trip In The Country" is also magnificent, although from an earlier era. Just got another copy at Amoeba (Great store! Only one in the Hollywood area I know of with any significant number of country records). You can't have too many. |

Not sure how you guys got this to play but I renamed it to a .mp4 file and it plays with the QuickTime player. Other than that I assume you all have ITunes.

| I just click on it and it opens a new page and plays. Anything more complicated than that and I have to ask my 14 yr. old for help. |

I just tried it on my home computer using Chrome and it just opens up and plays like you said! My work computer runs Explorer so maybe there's a difference.
Update" It runs automatically on my work computer as well on Explorer in a new window with Quicktime installed.

When I click on these (I use Firefox), they play on a page with a black screen with no control buttons, progress bar or time clock. I've been wondering what player is doing it. I do have VLC player. Is that how VLC player plays audio?
I love that burst of fast notes that jumps in from left field in Buddy's Tall Tall Trees solo--who else would have done that? |

I use Firefox on Windows 7 and get the same black box. In the tool bar, it's listed as Windows Media Player. If you hover your mouse over the box, the controls will appear. |

You can convert these M4a songs to MP3's with ManiacTools Free M4a to MP3 Converter. I then use a free program MP3Gain to set the levels the same as all my other MP3's. Both these programs work great.
