Well I just talked with Joe Garner today and confirmed his show. I am looking forward to coming back to this area and this should be another great show.

Got my flyer in the mail about the Magee, MS show next Sat, 12-11-04. Looks like another great one, the Garner's know how to put on a steel guitar show. I love 'em! There are lots of home grown steel players and musicians in that part of the country. There's no better emcee and vocalist than Tommy Sullivan, this guy is funny and worth the trip (ask him to sing "Chicken Truck"). Local pickers Billy Carr, good enough to be in anybody's band, along with Joe Grayson, Charlie Harrison, Larry Matthews, these guys are really good!! They'll make Herby and Mike Johnson work hard just to keep up. Also want to mention my favorite vocalist, Mr J.D. Barret. Can't mention all but don't want to leave anyone out. Hope I can get down and buy my wife a new guitar for Christmas. And oh, forgot to mention the Southfork Fish House, where the show is held. They serve the best catfish in the south. Which means in the world. Hope to see you there.

Oh my! What a great show! All of the regulars did a superb job! Herby Wallace was at his usual awesome performance level! Just great in all respects. Mike Johnson, what can I say! He and his wife put on one great show. His playing of "In the Garden" and "I'll Fly Away" was top shelf. He had that PP and Black Box honking! Thanks so much guys...and Joe Garner! Merry CHRISTmas!

I attended the Steel Guitar show in Magee, MS and really enjoyed it. Along with Herby Wallace and Mike Johnson, there were many excellant area steel players. I will definetly be going to the show there in May!

I just wanted to say that I certainly enjoyed being in Magee last Saturday as the Garners know how to put on a great show. I enjoyed getting to jam with Mike Johnson who is a fine musician. Actually this is the first time Mike and I ever met as he doesn't do many steel guitar shows. I am trying to encourage him to do more as I know his fine playing would be appreciated. His wife also did a fine job singing and playing bass.
