Found this on You Tube. From '76, Milton Carroll with Buddy Emmons. Classic licks and p/p tone. I'd love to hear the rest of the album, "Blue Skies". Going to search Amazon, eBay and Amoeba used records.

Great find! He seems to be one of the many good singer/songwriters that sadly never made it.

I think Milton Carroll is still around, but in the Christian music field now. The poster has put a few more cuts on YouTube. Here's another with some steel guitar, but so far "Sweet Country Music" is my favorite:

Very similar tone to what BE had on the first Kenny O'Dell LP. Here's one from that record:

There were two Kenny O'Dell records on Capricorn. The first, "Kenny O'Dell", is especially well worth seeking out.

If you've yet to hear Blue Skies in its entirety, here 'tis:

One of my favorite albums from back in the day. Emmons is superb (of course). Played Sweet Country Music on the bandstand for years. Always received a positive reaction.

Thanks! I did find the rest of that 1976 album. Jimmy Day is also on this record, and it sounds like both Day and Emmons may be playing on some, or maybe Jimmy double tracked (?). Kind of a messy mix, in my opinion, but Carroll was a terrific singer.
