I bought this from a fellow forumite and the first owner. Bought in Dec. 2010 for $800, this great little 8 string lap steel can be yours for $450 and some shipping.. Now that I have my Williams D8, I no longer need it.. so off to a good home!

Specs:

Studio 8 Lap Steel

Select Mahogany Body with Tortoise Binding
Hand wound 8-String Humbucking Lap Steel Pickup
3-Position Tone Switch
Retro "Lucky Cards" Fingerboard Graphics
Custom Bridge with 3/8" inch spacing
Premium Electronics & Hardware
Roto-Tite Tuners offer smooth, precise tuning
Includes Ivory Tolex Hard Case
Natural Finish
Made in USA
List Price - $999.99

In addition, I had the nut slots professionally leveled and cleaned up, and had the bridge rolled over and polished on the back side to give a better break over angle and reduce string breakage. It has a couple of bar dings on the front where a child tried emulating daddy and hit the top with a bar.. but that is reflected in the price Smile

What's the string length? Are the string slots leveled with a particular set of string gauges in mind?

ciao,

The guitar is set up as C6 with strings from .010 to .040 (which make it easy to make up sets using standard guitar strings Smile I have had it tuned to E13 and the large string fits, but obviously you get a little "slope" from low to high.. but no "sitar'ing" or buzz.

The scale length is not listed on Chandler's site.. so this is my measurement.. from touchpoint of bridge to touchpoint of nut is 23" as best I can measure...
