I think I told you all I started a live FM broadcast on our little public radio station in Ft. Collins Colorado in AUG.

I call it "Steel Guitar Jam" It's on every Thurs. at 6AM-7:30AM MST on KRFC Ft. Collins 88.9

It's really going well and people are digging hearing steel. Many comments are things like "gee I didn't know it could sound like that", or "I love the diversity". I knew people would like this stuff if they didn't hear it watered down and burried in top40 country.

For you guys not in Colo. or on the other side of the pond it streams on the web.

Check www.krfcfm.org for the stream. I finally started posting playlists on the show's forum on the station web, since I started getting calls to ask again what I played.

Any good things to say?, fill out the survey on the stations web site and I'll be able to keep this show going and keep sharing steel music with the ignorant masses - er ah - I mean the 'public'
So you can help out with email to the station or a post to their survey.

I'm not a pro DJ, just a volunteer on a non-profit local community radio station - but it's a great opportunity to get this music out there, and also for me to keep learning the history and music of the steel guitar.

btw, I've been playing cuts from many players who have products on the forum, along with our own Colo. steelers like Del, Dick Meis, Chuck Lettes, ... So as I can afford to buy more stuff to add to my meger collection, it will get played. And diversity is important, so I don't play too many shuffles I want to grab the younger folks - so I play it all. Once in a while my buddy EP Davis hosts or joins me, so we try and get different flavors of steel out there for folks.

cheers - hope you can tune in sometime.
