Forgot my bars at home… Lots of cursing and a panicked state..
Played the show using a deep well socket. Turned out to be one of the best gigs we've ever done! |

I have an inexpensive (less than $10) tool bag that I keep picks, a bar, a volume pedal, a tuner, extra strings, etc in. It stays in my truck.
And I wasn't even a boy scout!

Mat
I did the same thing years ago , only it was my pack seat with everything .
the group was going to get together a couple hours early and go over a few tunes - so i had time to go 40 miles back and get it .
your comment “Turned out to be one of the best gigs we've ever done! “ turned out the same for me -- I guess you get a devil may care attitude when it all starts out bad . |

So, in the end, you were able to really 'socket to 'em'? |

I think I bought my first pack-a-seat in the early 80's. I decided to always keep my bars & picks in one of the seat compartments when going to a gig. Played many, many jobs since then. My line of thinking was always feeling if I ever forgot my seat, then there was no hope for me! I've never forgotten my seat, but I guess it's possible. I've always had a personal-type laugh or scare of myself--about while driving to a gig, looking back in my SUV & having a heart attack, because I FORGOT EVERYTHING!!!!! |

I forgot my guitar one nite I wasn't playing steel but lead guitar. The owner of the club went and took a squire strat off a beer sign and I played the whole gig with it.Those strings were rusty as hell. But it worked.Had to grow new finger tips after that one.No bs.I love that socket to um! _________________ Gibson Les Paul
