my question is about the pot metal shobuds.did all the later guitars have pot metal.what is the problem with it.i know knee levers tend to break is there any other problems.i just wanted to clear this stuff up so i would know for sure.thanks daniel mckee |

i really need some info on this because i am interested in the later model shobuds but dont want one if it will be a lot of problems. |

daniel, i think most of the problem was that the knee lever bracket could break if too much unnecessary pressure was put on it. but that bracket can be replaced and no one i know with late sho-buds ever had that happen. they are still good steels. |

I had a pot metal Super-pro that would break the LKL brackets (my E to D# changes). I broke 3 of them before Barry Thomas gave me some aluminum ones. I broke one on my '79 Super-Pro...Pot metal guitars are easy to spot as they have the hexagonal cross-shafts!JS |
