They show up thanx to the net, and are usually in nice cond., as is this one. Either they were deemed not popular enuf and placed under the bed in favor of Fender's, or the owners took meticulous care. $1000 is a fair price. |

Leonard Zinn has had his for a long time, and it's a nice sounding instrument. I believe it's a pre-war, like 1938-39 (?)
Of course, the man behind it makes it sound great ! |

Back in the late 40s I heard L T with the 101 Ranch Boys on the radio playing such a sweet sounding steel I thought it must be a "Rickenbacher" !! So I wrote to him and he wrote me back and said that he played an "Epiphone" steel !! Sounded real nice !! Eddie "C" |

There's a similar one for sale here. I just picked up an earlier version of the same model (I think it's 1948-9):
Sounds fantastic! I know Epi used several different pickups on the Duo Console during the '40s and '50s, though, so I'm not sure if all of these have the same ones. |
