Can someone look at this frypan and tell me if the price is right? How rare are these? Can you also tell me a little about it? Waste of time, or run and grab it? Cass

The price looks OK. I've seen these before but can't remember what brand they are. If it's not too far away from you, go play it, to see if you would like it.

Don't expect a Rick frypan sound from it, far from in fact, but still a nice low imp. vintage tone.

It's a Supro Electric Hawaiian made by National-Dobro ca. 1936-37.
Some had a Bronson label.
Tuner buttons are not original.
Here's a picture of mine with the Supro logo.

What i don;t like about it is the pickup - it's not a Rick horseshoe model, from whence comes the good Rick sound, IMHO.

I got one of these here on the Forum a few years ago-This is probably the very first Supro model ever made. While it may not sound like a Rick, It does have a great National sound-I like it alot.

Still might be worth trying it. The Rick horseshoe is not magic, and a bit over-rated.

Can you bottle it? That 'magic' has long been debated, and as I listen to some right now I'm inclined to say it exists.

Would be interested to know what these things sound like, I love the look of them. I'd add that this is less than half the price for the one that's been at Gryphon Strings forever.
