There's actually a snatch of one of my own songs at the beginning but if you think you're going to hear Sleepwalk or Harbor Lights--and don't think little girls are impossibly cute--you should probably skip watching this video. On the other hand, she could be the next Cindy Cashdollar. Gets a good lick in on Sleepwalk. Keeping a three year old entertained is worth a few dings in an old Fender.

I love it! Thanks for posting. I've got a 5 year old and we do similar things;-) Only thing is at that age... he thinks any guitar he plays is all-of-a- sudden HIS!!! Not mine anymore it's suddenly "his guitar" [laughter].

Thanks, guys. There's a bit of a back-story to the video. The friend who shot the video is somewhat younger than me--mid-forties--and that's his first daughter. At the time, his wife was seven and a half months pregnant with their second child. Several days after that evening's visit and musical fun, he had cardiac death on the mound while pitching a baseball game. Despite very quick EMS response and resuscitation, he died twice more--in the ambulance and in the hospital. Learned afterwards that the protocol is four tries with the defibrillator. They gave him five in the hospital and got his heart going again.

After induced hypothermia and an emergency flight to the big city, he was brought out of the coma and is now the proud owner of an implanted defibrillator. He's still not back to work but has pretty well completely recovered. If not for that four-count--plus one--that would've been the last time I saw him alive. Laughing and making musical noise with his little girl. I did get to ask him when he was back home again, "So, what's it like being dead?" "No idea. I can't even remember the baseball game."

Don't have grandkids of my own yet so I've sure enjoyed doting on this particular little girl. I've given her a little digital keyboard and a ukulele. My wife, who plays blues harp, gave her one of her harmonicas. For a three year old, she has a very sweet singing voice and good pitch. Looking forward to more dings in my Fender. Like the poet says below, we "...are the music / while the music lasts."

Thank you for sharing the video and telling the story. Make me realize how much a person misses in life.
