I have been searching the internet and the forum for Curly's records with very little luck. In fact, since I'm young and relatively new to the pedal-steel world, the only reason I even know of his existence is because of a friend who introduced me to his music briefly a year or two ago. It's a shame to see such a gifted musician's music go relatively unnoticed by today's world.
In any case, I know there is a live DVD available out there (which I plan to acquire soon), but I'm also interested in getting some of the studio recordings (particularly C6). To my knowledge they haven't been released on CD. I would purchase cassettes or LPs if available, but I am hesitant to purchase them used when I don't have a chance to try them out first. I'm starting to think I will have to just break down and download these albums:
Big Hits On Big Steel
Counterpoint
More Ways To Play
Nevada Breaks
If anyone has any suggestions or has these for sale, please let me know! Also, are these all the Chalker studio albums, or am I missing some in this list? (I am aware of Nashville Sundown as well) |

Go to Bobby Caldwells site --> Click and scroll down to "Pals".
This is Curly and Bobby in an after-hours session at Scottys store.
The playing within in is incredibly uninhibited, since it wasn't
a 'formal' commercial recording session.

The DVD is still available. In fact, I still have around 500 copies sitting in my garage. I must say, I'm surprised by this. I expected them to all be gone by now.
The price of the DVD is $32.00. $30 for the DVD itself, and 2 bucks for mailing expenses.
I can't accept credit cards, so payment must be made by personal check, money order, or Pay Pal.
You can also buy the DVD from Scotty, and from b0b's forum catalog. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

I purchased this DVD from Mike a while ago, and still listen and learn from the master, Mr. Chalker !
His playing is astounding, as is that of his accompanying guitar players.
Best $$$, I've invested in a CD.
I watch is hands, and get a "clue" on what position he get his magical sounds !!
Also, Mike is a great guy to do business with
