I happened to stumble across this.If watching you tube and other programs they can turn your mic and camra on with out your knowing it.Right click on the red line at you tube and go to global settings, then click mic and camera,I don't think this is legel. If that don't work go here.www.s.ytimg.com.This is what you tube uses. Elton, just for a start, YouTube hasn't used Flash video for years, since Goggle bought it. They use HTML 5, so all of this as it relates to You Tube is incorrect.
Most flash video is in the domain of porn sites, so if you're visiting there, perhaps you have something to worry about. But as a 25 year vet in the computer industry, this is nonsense and not reliable information.
YMMV

Perhaps it's misleading, but when I right-clicked on the red line just now, it did take me to a window for settings of Adobe Flash Player, which did have a button (second from right) for "Allow s.ytimg to access your camera and microphone?", with options to allow or deny--default set to "Deny." Irrelevant to me in any case because my computer doesn't have a microphone or camera. (As far as I know!!! )

I just found this on YouTube's own site:
Quote: |
YouTube HTML5 Video Player
This is an opt-in trial of HTML5 video on YouTube. If you are using a supported browser, you can choose to use the HTML5 player instead of the Flash player for most videos. |
(emphasis added)
People are invited to take part in the trial and provide feedback.

(BTW, I Googled "HTML 5" and every article that came up was 100% incomprehensible to a lay person like me.) |

A lot of the videos I download from YouTube are still .flv files. As I understand it, HTML5 will play video and music files without additional plugins. But as I read the stuff on YouTube, I believe they are still mostly using Flash Player and just in the trial phase of HTML5. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . HTML is a markup language used to build web sites. HTML5 is the latest version, and one of its (sic) advantages is the ability to render video without Flash, which has fallen into disfavor in some quarters recently, due to a number of reasons. _________________ C#
