I know this film has been praised elsewhere on the Forum, but please don't miss it! Mr Foxx is close to perfect in the role.
Larger-than-life celebrities like Elvis, Jerry Lee and Patsy Cline have been attempted before, but I forgot that I wasn't actually watching Ray Charles himself in this terrific portrayal.
This post is in 'Events and Announcements' because I was delighted to see my friend Doug Livingston's name credited on 'pedal steel guitar'. He sounded pretty fine, too - though his contribution was all-too-brief.
The sense of 'period' in this biopic is remarkable, with some great old cars, instruments and amplifiers in evidence.
The most rewarding trip to the movies I've had in far too long....
