Hi everyone, Yes its true!!!! I have a new CD that will be available REAL SOON!!!!

I have put together a CD for all you "REAL COUNTRY MUSIC" lovers and "STEEL GUITAR" fans.

This project is entitled Red Kilby "Keepin' it Real" and it features not 1 but 4 LEGENDS of the steel guitar doing what they do best.
Lloyd Green,Ralph Mooney, Dicky Overbey and Jerry Brightman.

Also featured are as follows:
Redd Volkaert and Junior Knight on Lead Guitar.
Dale Morris on Fiddle
Dick Dunn on Drums
Reggie Brown on Bass
Jeff Williams on Keys
Redd Volkaert on Rhythm Guitar
Jake Hooker on Harmony Vocals and myself on Lead Vocals.
I have been working with Producer Joe Bielinski and Sound Engineers Robert Snyder and Greg Kane for the past few months on this project.

The songs are as follows with the featured steel player or players envolved.

1. That Bakersfield Sound = Dicky and Ralph
2. When she does me right = Lloyd
3. I'll come running = Jerry
4. Colors I'm gonna paint the town = Ralph
5. Crystal Chandeliers = Lloyd
6. Honky Tonk Heartache = Ralph
7. If there's one angel missing = Dicky
8. Your's to hurt tomorrow = Lloyd
9. Just between you and me = Lloyd
10. AKA Gumpy's Girl = Dicky
11. I'm gonna knock on your door = Lloyd and Jerry
12. 11 months and 29 days = Ralph and Dicky

I will have it for sale in St. Louis.

I would like to share a couple of comments that Lloyd had about this project just after the session in Nashville,
"This is one of the best projects I have ever played on, and the steel solo I played on Crystal Chandeliers is the one I never got to play on the Charley Pride Live at Panther Hall LP" also He said "Mooney sounds like the Moon I remember from the the late 50's and 60's all over again"

There are lots of studio pictures and info also within this collage of MUSICAL HISTORY, so if you like GREAT STEEL and REAL COUNTRY MUSIC hunt me down in St. Louis.

Take care, and GOD BLESS, "KEEPIN IT REAL" Red Kilby.

P.S I will also have the CD available on my website www.redkilby.com after Labor Day.

I would also invite anyone that would like to see pictures from the Nashville session go to either www.slidestation.com or www.lloydgreentribute.com or both!!!!.
Thanks Jerry and Walter.

Dear Friends!

You gotta hear this one! Red really put together a labor of love, it's so great, it even wakes you up from a good night sleep. I know from my own experience, because Red called me the other day around midnight my time, just to play me a few track over the phone. Listening to Red sing "Just Between You And Me" and hear the incredible playing of Lloyd more or less stopped me from sleeping that night!

Red really helps to keep the traditional sound alive and he is a great supporter of the steel guitar!

Thanks, buddy, for the great work!

Kind Regards, Walter

I was completely in awe when I heard Red's new CD project. He has done something no one has done, place many great steel guitar legends on one fine CD, done with class, sounds like you want country music to be. The original people playing steel on the songs that they do best. And Red sounds so like he has Charley Pride's voicing even down at times along with his timing on the words. You forget sometimes on the Charley Pride songs that it's not Charley singing. This will be a collectable, a first of its kind--should be the hit of the ISGC in September. Red, you better pack up more cases of these. I knew I wanted one when I heard all that good sounding steel guitar on good steel songs, once again we can find a fresh new sound reminiscent of what it was in the 60's and 70's. Thanks Pal you have a winner disc.

I was very proud to have been a part of this project and especially getting to record in Nashville with Lloyd. I have some pictures on my website, (listed below) of Lloyd and I in the studio in Nashville over-dubbing our parts.

For you folks attending St. Louis, make sure you find Red and buy a copy of this genuine
country CD with lots of steel on it.

Thanks Red for allowing us all to be a part of your dream!

Thanks,

Jerry

Hello Red,
What a great project! It's nice to see a traditional country recording, featuring some pure steel guitar. I look forward to seeing you in St. Louis.

Red,

I'd love to have one! I don't know that I can recognize you at the convention (went to your website and all the photos have you in sunglasses). If you'll drop by the "Steel Guitar Masters series" booth next to Carter Guitars, you can unload one instantly, unless you have that gator with you!

This will be on my "must buy" list at St Louis...I've got to hear Dicky and Moon together. With respect to Gary Sill, Bobby Flores album "Just For the Record", featured several (nine, to be exact) fabulous steel players and this CD, after better than a year, is still in my listening rotation. Bobby has a sensative ear and just seems to know what fits...listen if you will to the kickoff of "Cold War With You" on Christine Mims C D....who'da thunk it.

I also had the chance to hear Red's new CD when he called me and played it for me over the phone awhile back. At least he was home and not in a locomotive cab when he called me this time.!.!

High fidelity is not best over the phone. Also, the cuts were dry and unmixed when I heard them. But what I heard knocked me out !! I can't wait to get the final CD product which is going to be so awesome.

Hats Off to my buddy Red Kilby for this project. It's a true kick back to a sound that was pure, from the heart and real. It's not over compressed, over produced or overly enhanced electronically. It's real. And as a bonus to Lloyd, Ralph, Dickey and Jerry you get Red singing his face off. And his love of real country music and steel guitar are not to be questioned.

I'm glad you let the cat outta the bag Red. It wasn't easy keeping quiet about this for the past two-plus months.

I had the pleasure of hearing Reds' c.d last night as he was in town and went to my Broadway gig with me. It is a MUST HAVE for every country music lover as well as steel guitar lover. Lloyd, Jerry, Dickie, and Ralph all played as you would expect them to as well as Red and Junior on guitars. I can't wait till my copy gets here.
Red, You have a real gem with this good luck with it. I'm sure you'll sell a bunch in St. Louis. And BTW, you sang great with us last night.

Red, I said this in another posting but it bears repeating...

I too bought his CD in St Louis and it is super! Not only is the singing great, I really liked all the steel. Red let Lloyd, Mooney and Dickey do their thing! Great job, Red!

This is a FANTASTIC project, with four of our greatest steel players, being backed up by Red. This is a MUST for any steel player's collection.

This c.d. is what country music was and should be today. My copy is in my player at least once a day most of the time twice or more. Red, you've got a real winner with this project and I hope you sell a million.

Red !!!.....from the amount of times I was with you in St Louis...and the way you and Lyn Owesly Ämbushed me"...in downtown Nashville......I am kicking myself that I didnt get your CD.......as you could see..I was in such a hazy state at the treatment we recieved over there....having such a good time....and that you being such a pleasant person that you didnt even try to push me to buy one......that I dont think I was aware that you had just released this CD until Lloyd told me about it the day after you left Nashville.
Oh well......maybe next time I see you I will get one
Great to see you
