trying to get some input on this setup.
Rains S10 guitar w/705s

Im running 2 nashville 400 amps

starting from the pedal im running in to my digital delay to the rv5 to the bobro, this all connects to the first amp input

the second amp Im just running direct from the hilton pedal to the amps input

Im setting amps pretty close together as it is not stereo and the goal is too try and get lows on one end and highs on the other as you do have separate tone control this way.,this really does not seem to be working as well as i thought the sound of course is somewhat fatter but to get tone control seems to be a endless battle, any ideas to make this work would be greatly apreciated.Nothing moves from the stage,,so my placement between the 2 amps is always the same.I just set this up recently and never used 2 amps on stage but I will take some ideas if possible, maybe from some of you that also has this kind of setup or similar.Maybe more trouble then its worth?

thanks guys

I don't know how you would find one, but one of Jeff Newmans old Pedal Rod newsletters had an article on this. I think it also had a Nash 400- Vegas 400 setup too. I'll try to look for it.

The first thing that comes to mind is that no two people in the audience hear the same tone or effects from your rig no matter what you hear. You could stack the amps vertically to align the dispersion patterns, but this won't help you get the EQ or FX right as you are creating two very different signals with too many phase and balance issues to go into.

If it was me I would gig with one NV400 and leave the other in my practice studio. If I was touring I would carry the second for a spare.

If you have your heart set on using both amps I would suggest that you hook it up VP > bobro > delay > reverb and take stereo outs from the reverb to the two amps, setting them behind you to the left and right. Tilt them back and turn them slightly inwards - 10 to 20 degrees or so should do it - so that you are perfectly between them and the dispersion beam of each covers a separate part of the audience. Set the amps identically and you now get to experience fine stereo yourself while improving the distribution of your instrument's sound throughout the audience area. SCORE!!! NOW you've got a thinking-man's reason to carry all that extra tonnage around.

I use a Nashville 1000 and a Nashville 400. I go from my volume pedal into the 1000. I then go from the patch out to my MXR Carbon Copy, then into my Boss RV-3. The RV-3 has 2 outputs so I patch back into the 1000 and into the patch of the 400. It works great and sounds great. I like one on each side and slightly behind me. I angle them slightly toward me. When I'm facing straight ahead it sounds like one amp but if I turn either way then I can hear what that amp sounds like.
