This guitar is why I asked about 10-string tunings. It's at Gruhn, and they describe it as a 10-string Style B. It's bakelite, with the finish worn off on the back. What do you all think? I figured that if I was hesitant to dive into a 10-string tuning I could drop two strings off and play 8-string for the time being. They're asking $1,100.

Pre-WW-II Rick bakelite 10 string.Neck is metal not bakelite and rather heavy when played on the lap.In my experience from owning one, they are not very stable at holding a tuning-Besides finish missing on back,I believe the tuner buttons are replaced on this one. |

It all comes down to if you like the sound and it's playability. They're said to sound quite different from the B6/7/8s due to the aluminum neck most likely. |
