Hi Ken,
As always, many thanks for sharing your wisdom.
Being recently retired I have enough time on my hands to pursue something I've wanted to do for years - build a kit amp just for fun. I took some electronics classes while in college but need to read a book or two for review & guidance. Are there any that you'd suggest?
Thanks a million!

Most of what I have around here are amp repair books. One of the best is by Jack Darr. However none of my books really deal with amp building.
You might check here and see what they have in the way of books and other training materials:

Thanks again for all your help. I found a couple of books to get me started.

Hi Jim,
Any of the books by Douglas Self are well worth the expense and effort in studying for those of us who dabble in audio electronics.
"Self On Audio" is a compilation of articles Doug has published over the last 20 years.
"Audio Power Amplifier Design Handbook" now in the 5th edition is one I found extremely helpful for understanding how circuits work.
"High-Power Audio Amplifier Construction Manual" by G. Randy Slone is also a great book filled with useful information. |
