Is there someone (from the older generation) who remembers the Maddox Bros & Rose song "New Step It Up And Go"?

We would like to perform the tune but I gave it up to get the lyrics, no chance.... I do not understand what they are singin'!

Is there someone who can help?

Here is what I got:

Well I got a girl she's little and low
She used to love me but she don't no more
I step it up and go
yeah I know
Step it up and go
uuuuuuhy
.............

Late last night when I came in
I found a new sticker within my pin
I had to step it up and go
yeah go
Step it up and go
uuuuuhy
..............

Well me and my girl.......

Way down yonder in the ......

Well me and my wife and my brother Joe......

The lyrics are quite different to the traditional tune of Blind Boy Fuller or Dylans version.

Would be great if we'll get help!

thanks for the Youtube Link, great - it's a different version which I got, where the vocals are a little bit louder - now the refrain is getting clearer, something like that: I can stand that ( instead of the original Fuller text Can't stand pat...??) I swear I had to step it up and go, right?

But the other verses still remains miracles to me....

The last two lines of the chorus appear to be:
Well I can't take that (sometimes she says "stand that" instead)
I swear I got to Step It Up and Go

Late last night when I came in
I found a new pig rooting in my pen

Well me and my gal went huckleberry hunting
She fell down and I kept hunting

Way down yonder in the forks of the branch
The old sow fiddled and the little pigs danced

If you can send me an audio file I can try to decipher it better.

"Step It Up and Go" is not a Bob Dylan tune, although he recorded it. It's an old blues/jug-band tune written by Charlie Burse of the Memphis Jug band dating back to the early 1930s, and has been done by many, many people. No doubt some have changed the lyrics here and there. More info readily available:

Was big for for Blind Boy Fuller early 40s - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbQa-SsjD0A

Thanks to everyone for help, I got it now - Brad's Oki feeling and listening solved all the miracles... Smile

Yes I know the old Fuller recording - Dylan was not born at that time. The Fuller lyrics are different to the Maddox version, seems that a lot of musicians at that time made their own lyrics for this song.

regards and thanks again!

That's Roy Nichols on guitar and Dandy Don Juan Maddox singin'. I saw Don at a fiddle contest last year, he's 88 years old and still singin "Step It Up And Go" and playing fiddle.
