Beautiful Bent. I can not beleive the speed at which you got this project done. That makes me wonder, does this guy work a job/job? Is this guy married/kids? Maybe I'm just jealous because I want to work on mine but it's now 115 degrees here in Phoenix. I love your work and your posts. Keep 'em comin'. Ron

_PS. Does your wrist want to fall off of that shorter pad when playing at the first fret?

Bent, that is really beautiful! I love the "Lloyd" streak on the front apron. Your client will be very happy.
Do the brass fingers and the Alumitone work well together?
Well done! Love to see the underside soon.

I have built a few non-pedal instruments, so I have some appreciation of what's involved. But building a pedal steel is so far out of my league, that I can say without any exaggeration - I'm just in awe. Great colors, too. Congratulations!

Ron thanks for the nice words. Actually I had the pad done to this specific length. JUST long enough so may hand doesn't fall off, and short enough so I can expose maximum woodwork. I love wood you see...

John, you can build non-pedal and that means you can also build pedal steel. Join the builders forum and we will coach you right thru your first build!

Storm, mask off the whole side except for the inlay. Then you give the inlay several coats of sanding sealer.
When dry, you mask off the inlay and stain the body like normal. Then yo sand the sanding sealer off the inlay and it takes any stain right with it.

Scott, thanks for looking and commenting favorably. To all of you who looked and left all the nice comments...Monday I take off to Norway with "Blue" To deliver it to the new owner, Gustav Haugedal.
Wish me luck on the flight, with no damage done to the steel. It is well protected in this flight case.

Here is my grandson,Nikolas and I, testing the strength of the flight case Smile
