Just wondering what some of the changes you can use on a staggered or outside lever. I know some probably use the Franklin change. This may have been posted before, but was just curious. |

I don't have the Franklin change, but I do have staggered RKL levers. It took some time to avoid unintentionally stomping on the volume pedal, but after a while I got used to it. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

I raise the 9th string from D to D# on my outside LKL. Lots of cool stuff with that change. _________________ www.pedalsteel.ca |

I have a RKL1 and RKL2 (RKL1 is closer to my body and is on the next cross rod to the left of RKL2).
I can fully enguage RKL2 (a short-throw half-step lower) without hitting RKL1.
It's kind of a scootch the right knee forward or back a little to hit either one.

Not sure of the changes, but Steve Palousek always had an outside LKL. He moved the standard one forward towards the middle slightly and had one left and to the back of the guitar body. The location made it much easier to use. I found it to be the most practical location for a staggered knee lever. |
