Well here is the old Eharp player trying my hand at playing the dobro/resonator again. The song is Silver Threads Among The Gold played on my very inexpensive acoustic Rogue resonator. Give it a listen and see what you think. Thanks.

Mel,
Where have you been all this time? Join the happy band of music contributors on this forum. Great choice of instrument and of tone for this number, brought back memories of this song my Mum used to sing.
Keep it going, enjoyed that!

Thanks a lot Kay. You don't know how much it means to me for you to make such a kind comment on my playing since you have been one of my hero's on the steel guitar for several years now.
Thanks again,
Mel |

Great bit there Mel. I had that as a lesson when I was taking Hawaiian guitar lessons in 1948. I still have the TAB (or "number system" as we used to call it).
Coincidentally, I just gave it to one of my students this week for a lesson. It's in A Major of coourse as opposed to G, but the picking is almost the same except the bottom two strings are the 30's LoW Bass, A & E respectively.
You'll get a lot of enjoyment out of the reso. I play it also.
