I was wondering how hard it would be to modify the Nashville 112 where you can plug in your headphones without cutting off the speaker as it currently does.
It would be nice to be able to plug in a pair of earbuds on stage to hear myself a little more over the rest of the band without turning up.
I currently do that with the PODXT and it works great. |

Try plugging the headphones into the Preamp Out. This may work OK, depending on the headphones.
Another option would be to have a adapter that would plug into the XLR output and have a headphone jack on it. This may work, too.
I haven't tried either way, just some options to try. |

What?
I'm not certain, but I would think by doing that, the power to the internal speaker would be cut by creating an open circuit.
I could be wrong though.

Mike has the correct idea, however any small headphone amp will work. It can be run from the second output on your volume pedal (some such as the Vox models feature an input jack installed so no extra cords are required). |

Plugging into the Preamp Out doesn't cut the signal to the power amp. Remember the Preamp Out can also be used as an input from an iPod, CD player, etc so you can play along with that.
However, the Power Amp IN if an external preamp signal is plugged into this jack this does cut the 112's preamp out signal.
Look at the signal flow diagram in the Peavey manual.
The Preamp Out works the same as the Pre EQ Out or the Post EQ Out - they have the signal but plugging into these jacks does not "cut" the signal internally. Only when you plug into the "Return" jacks on the Pre and Post EQ Loops. |
