For some time now I've been nagging Jim Loessberg to re-release the last few songs of his Jazz Series on CD. He's finally done it - these six tunes finish the project.
  • 'Move' is a Miles Davis song from his classic LP 'Birth of the Cool'. Jim teaches this jazz standard as a single string melody and then teaches the chord prgression in the key of Bb for C6th pedal steel.

  • 'Au Privave' is an early bebop standard by Charlie Parker. Jim teaches the song as a single string melody and then teaches the chord progression in the key of F for C6th pedal steel.

  • 'Dewey Square' is a Charlie Parker composition based on 'Oh, Lady Be Good!' by George and Ira Gershwin. Jim teaches the melody, then the chords for C6th pedal steel in the key of Eb.

  • 'Look For the Silver Lining' is a popular standard composed by Jerome Kern with lyrics by B. G. DeSylva in 1919. Jazz fans probably remember it best from trumpeter Chet Baker's 1956 recording on 'Chet Baker Sings'. Jim teaches this song as a full chord melody for C6th pedal steel in the key of Eb.

  • 'My Little Suede Shoes' is a Charlie Parker tune based on Johnny Mercer's pop standard 'Jeepers Creepers'. Jim teaches the melody on single strings and all of the chords for C6th pedal steel.

  • 'Perhaps' and 'Cheryl' are two similar 12-bar jazz tunes by Charlie Parker. Jim teaches both tunes as single string melodies for C6th pedal steel.
I'm happy to announce that all of these courses are now available from the Forum store at SteelGuitarShopper.com. Very Happy
