Can anyone on the forum tell me whether or not Emmons made an 8 string pedal steel starter? I have an 8 string lap steel and if this is so it would be an excellent learning tool. Any help would be appreciated. What would be a good price for this instrument |

I have this one that I bought from Jim Horan for $600,which I think is an excellent price. ( I have since added 4 knee levers)

I have one too that I think I paid around $ 1000 for. I have never really used it a lot because I mainly play straight steel.
I think mine has 4 pedals and 2 levers. I think now that I see yours I want to pull it out of the closet and give it a spin.
Stan, do you have any tuning problems? I felt it went slightly out of tune when I played it and use the pedals and the levers.
Whart tuning are you using and how are the pedals set up? Does yours have knee levers at all?
Do you know what year these steels were made?
Thanks
