My MIDI styles have a 2 measure count in but the RealTracks don't. Is there an option somewhere in the program to turn on the count in measures for RealTracks so I can hear a few clicks before the playing starts? If so, I haven't found it yet.

That's a good question. I found myself wondering that today.

Try this. Real band options, preferences, metronome, metronome setting. Hope this helps. Smile

I've found some metronome settings but where's "Real Band Options"?

Gary at the top of realband you will see Options, between Block, and windows. Guess I should have explained it better.Should work for real tracks.

I have noticed something that may help. I usually start song construction in BIAB and do the final mix in Real Band. I often will start with a midi style so that everytime I make a change to the song or an instrument, it takes less time to generate. This works kind of like a scratchpad version of the song.

Once I get the song structure down I find a suitable Real style to switch to. This retains the 2 bar count in and gives me one or more Real tracks. I can then freeze one or more of the realtracks that I like, and generate new ones if needed.

Save the song as .mgu or .sgu etc then open it in Real Band. There I have the two bar lead in as well. When I have tried to compose in Realband from the very beginning there was so much time wasted waiting for things to generate. Which is why I get the song as close as possible to what I want before going to Real Band.

Try it you might Like it Smile

I was listening to a real band track I am working on. I had it quite loud as I was practicing with it. There, very faintly, I heard the standard BIAB countdown. I think it's still there. It's just figuring how to make it louder.

Ken

You should be able to see it in real band either in wav form for audio or as a midi track either way if you need it would be on the same track as your drums.

The way I do mine is: 1st bar...Example C. That mutes the first chord (it will show red) but you still hear the click count of the drums. I start my song on 2nd bar..whether it is a 1,5 kick etc. I use it with my Cubase for recording and works great. If it is sometimes weak and you use Cubase go to automation and increase the volume at the beginning of the drums for just that part. Sometimes I use automation on some drum tracks that have peaks I want to lower in certain sections. Hopes this helps...works for me.

I still use version 8.5 and there is a count-in on the real tracks when I load one. Not as loud as the midi count-ins but it is there. You can get a bit more volume on the count-ins by going to Opt. - Preferences - Count-in/Met. and setting the count-in volume to 127.

Another option is to convert your track to wav, mp3 or whatever you use and bring it up in a wav editing program and increase the volume of the count-in and re-save
