I've been contacted by a young soldier in Virginia looking for parts for an MSA S10 Semi-Classic. I don't know what the year is but he has told me that he received it from an uncle as a gift. Unfortunatly, it appears that it is missing the pedal bar, pedals, and pedal rods.
He has stated that his uncle used to play on the Grand Old Opry. This soldier has also stated that he was wounded in Iraq with a right knee injury. Additionally he has a one week old baby and he is the only source of income (Military pay). He actively plays at his church and has about 7 years experience with pedal steel and 18 yrs with drums. He has sent me links of some of his playing and his original emails came through unclassified military channels so I do not believe that I'm being duped.
I can supply the pedal rods and quick connects and I'm asking the forum members for donations of pedals (3) and a pedal bar (also the pedal support brackets if need be). I don't know what the proper width of the pedals should be for this guitar, but I'm sure that someone out there knows. I do know that there are wide and narrow ones.
As a last ditch effort. I have the material to fabricate a pedal bar. I would need the dimensions for the bar and pedal support brackets. I also have access to some raw MSA pedal castings but would have to machine them.
I can handle all this machine work but thought that perhaps some of you may have this stuff lying around and would like to help one of our veterans.
If you have some of these parts and would like to help, please contact me with a PM, email, or just a post.
Let's pay him back for the sacrifices he has made for us!
Thanks
Michael Yahl

It appears that I have 3 pedals on the way from a kind soul.
I will take care of the rods and quick connects.
Does anyone have a bar w/pedal supports that I could 'borrow' just to get the dimensions? I'll reimburse you for the shipping costs.

Michael,
It's great of you to take it upon yourself to help out. I don't have any of those parts, but would be happy to send you some money on paypal or on the mail if it would help you get what you don't have. Please let me know where you're at. I'll bet there are some other people on here that would be willing to help as well.

Thanks Chris and Jeff for your support.
I have found someone who is sending me a pedal bar so that I can get the measurements from it.
Looks like I'll be making one up from scratch. I'm sure that very few are lying around without a guitar.
We're gettin' there... _________________ "Don't fergit to kiss yer horse!"
