The other day on the way to Springfield Mo. I was listening to a version of “I never go around mirrors” I was thinking no big deal I’ve heard a million version of this song and they all seem to have good PSG in them but then the PSG ride started I turned the radio up and almost peed my pants. Awesome is the only way you could describe it. I don’t know how I managed to miss this version all these years. To me it ranks right up there as one of the best ever solos on E9.
When I got back home I downloaded it from you tube. Blake Shelton or Daryle Singletary. I could only get Daryles version from You Tube.
I think the 2 versions might be a little different.

I was going to try and transcribe it but the tab was already out there.

All the singers who did this song are great. But, I would like to hear someone do it, without trying to sound like Lefty. A close friend auditioned for the Wheeling Jamboree once and was told " We already have one Eddy Arnold, we don't need two ". So he became a great steel picker instead.

It's not only the solo, but all the fills are superb.
That's from Daryl's albumn--"That's Why I Sing This Way". There's lot's more killer stuff by Mike on it.
