I agree, but I have to point out that Van Gogh was a Dutchman, and his name is pronounced "Van Goff", not "Van Go". (It rhymes with "Cough".) |

Ja, ik versta. Uitstekend.
I didn't know how to write it phœnetically so that an English speaker could pronounce it accurately. The gh is like the ch in Scottish loch, and, in Dutch/Flemish, Gs at the start of words have mutated into a kind of hard H, so Goeden Morgan has come to be pronounced Hooi Morghun.
...but it ain't Van Go. |
