Earcraft Music in Dover has a S-10 Dekley for sale, 3+4 pre-slimline model. Probably very early (pedal rods attach on top, not side of the pedals). Good shape, end-plates have no scratches, plays well like a Dekley should! Case is not an original Dekley (or, at least, not like the ones I have seen); maybe a little better. Knees are: LKL-raises 4+8; LKR-lowers 4+8; RKL-lowers 2(--) + 9 (-), RKR-raises 7 and 1. Pedals standard Emmons.

Hi Dan,
I didn't know there was anybody on the forum so local! I'm in Berwick, 10 minutes from EarCraft. I may have to check this out... don't tell the wife! |

Hi there Bruce; pleased to connect with another steeler in the area!
Actually, the seacoast is lousy with pedal steel players: who knew? I was playing an outdoor gig in Newmarket in 2009 and three other players happened by. If you're in the market for a good professional S-10, then you should check this one out. I got the pedals and knees in tune for them, but did not adjust the action much; it could use a thorough tightening up. But that's pretty easy stuff on the Dekley.

I stopped in Earcraft today and the Dekley is still there. He'd be willing to let it go for $850. In the light of day (front display window) It looks a little dingier than I remembered it from December, but not bad. Let me know if your interested and I'll stop by and take some pics. Just hate to see a good old Dekley languishing there.
