Maybe this belongs in the 'Computers' section ?

Is there a way to get a .pdf file from TablEdit ? I've tried exporting as .rtf and it just prints a 'cheesy' version of the tablature only.. I'd like the notation and tab to print in .pdf format if possible.

Mike Neer... I bought your "Tenderly" package and the .pdf file you include looks great and is what I'm trying to do with my own TablEdit files.

Mitch, print it off and then scan and save as a .pdf file. Of course only if your printer/scanner will do this.

Mitch, if you happen to be a Mac user, there's a PDF button in the lower left of the print dialog box. Click that, then you can print directly to a PDF. Extremely handy!

Probably not a PC feature, unfortunately, but what would I know?

Hi Mitch, If you go to www.dopdf.com there is a free download that you can use to convert it to pdf. It explains exactly how to convert it to a PDF file. Very easy.

Thanks guys for all the help !

I'm a windows users so no easy pdf button. Sad

I will definately check out the free pdf program.. Mike Neer sent me a link to a different one also.

In the meantime, I DID find a round-about way to do it...

In the TablEdit Print Preview, there is a export button. I tried every option except the one that worked, cuz I didn't know what it meant... "Copy to clipboard as a metafile" ? ..huh ? ... well, while displaying each page (yep, one at a time), used the metafile thing... open up MS Word and paste.. voila ! a nice looking notation / tab. After pasting all the pages, saved as a Word doc, then saved as a .pdf from within MS Word. * big sigh *

...think it's time to get a MAC ! Whoa!

Thanks again guys !

Hal,

I DID go download dopdf. It is very easy and works great. Just installs as a printer that I can select to print from TablEdit. Output is exactly as defined in the printing layout within the tab file.

THANKS ! Much easier that the workaround I used.

Mitch, just type "PrimoPDF" into your Google search window, follow the link, download and instal Nitro Software's PrimoPDF package.

It functions like a virtual printer: you can "print" a file as a PDF by selecting PrimoPDF from your list of printers, once edited. It will ask you where you want the PDF file saved to. You now have a PDF file which you can print in the normal way.

Alternatively, you can just drag your file on the desktop to the PrimoPDF desktop icon and it will achieve the same thing, prompting you for a folder etc address to put the finished product.

Easy to use, easy to instal. I have no connections with Nitro, but I like this product. They have other utilities, like a PDF Editor too. Good luck!
