While snooping on the internet and scanning the JERRY BYRD fan club site, I happened onto a Chet Atkins record on JERRY's MUSIC page.
No idea when it was recorded but it sort of sounds like the mid-1960's maybe. The title of the tune is: "HELLO
MY BABY".......and in the middle of the song the unmistakable sound of JERRY BYRD's steel guitar. You Chet Atkins followers might want to give it a listen.
I can't provide you with a link as I'm uncertain how to do it properly. Sorry....... Just scan through the JBFC site and visit the very bottom of the page for the 'player'. |

It was recorded on the 18th of March 1953 at RCA studio 1, New York City in a session that also produced Oh By Jingo & The Bells of St. Mary’s. |

This thread got me to get out the Chet Atkins Galloping Guitar - The Early Years ( mid 40’s to 54) box set on Bear Family and look up Chet’s sessions with steel (thanks to Dave Samuelson & Richard Weize for their excellent research). Jerry played steel on another session with Chet on June the 20th 1954 wich produced San Antonio Rose, Set A Spell, Mister Misery and Get Up And Go. Bud Isaacs played on five sessions in ’54 on the 9th of May, the 26th and 27th of September and on the 16th and 17th of November most of which made up the “A Session With Chet Atkins” album. The interesting thing is Jerry did another session with Chet on the 17th of September 1953 also contributing to the “ Session” album, were he played bass!!
