Apparently there's a new outlet for Cindy C's considerable talents--a swing combo called Bordertown Bootleggers. The live version I heard yesterday included electric archtop guitar, upright bass, drums and Cindy on (Remington?) D8, dobro, and 6-string lap. A vocalist was featured on a handful of tunes, and the CD includes a lot of fiddle and a bit of accordion.
This was probably my favorite Cindy C gig to catch so far--she was having to do a lot of backup playing and her solos/fills seemed more adventurous than I'd heard her do before. She seemed to be pushing it to the limit and having a ball. Hear this group live if you can--a lot of good players, and an excellent showcase for Cindy.
Here's their myspace page, with some full tunes and some samples of others (I recommend you check out "Almost to Tulsa"):

Thanks so much. Excellent music and a top-notch web site to boot, so to speak.
