I just got back from one of the greatest weeks of music I've ever had in my life!! I try to attend and play at Merlefest every year but this year was special. Randy Travis, Zac Brown band, Lyle Lovett and the Doobie Brothers.. and that was just the headliners. But one of my favorite parts of the week was Steve Hinson playing steel for Randy. Randy's entire show sounded like a studio quality replay of his greatest hits album and they never ended! I haven't had the priviledge of meeting Steve, but his playing, his professionalism, and his tone was about the best you could ever imagine. Wow, was he smooooooth!!! Outstanding show! Randy and the band were perfect and Hinson was absolutley incredible. If you ever get the chance to see Randy's show... I highly suggest it! ( especially if your a steel player ) Great show Steve!!
